FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the Trolley Pub?
It’s a 14-person pedal-powered portable bar on wheels, with a certified Trolley Pub conductor in the captain’s seat. Perfect for pub crawls, birthday celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, company outings, brewery tours, sightseeing, themed nights out- the possibilities are endless! A minimum of 6 pedalers is necessary to power the Trolley Pub.

What all is included in the price?
The price include the rental for the Trolley Pub for the two hours, a driver, and a cooler for your beverages.

Where does the Trolley Pub stop and for how long?
During a private tour, that is up to you, as long as its along your route.  Visit the Routes page for details.  Just let your driver know where you would like to stop at the start of the tour.  Most groups stop at three spots for about 15-20 minutes at each stop.  For mixer tours, we will stop at three popular bar/restaurants for 15 minutes at each stop.  These stops will vary based on the group on board, rider requests, and the driver’s discretion.  We usually stop at Raleigh Times and the Flying Saucer.  Some people prefer to stay on board the whole tour, even during the stops, and that is just fine!

How much does a pedal pub cost?
A private tour has a flat rate of $425 ($~30 a person with 14 people) with a surcharge of $25 for tours past 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Mixer tickets, where you can buy individual seats, are $37 each. Special events are charged by the hour- plus a drop-off fee if you need to have it transported to your event. Make sure you book your tour well in advance, as we are often sold out on popular time-slots up to a month in advance!

Where do we board the Trolley Pub?
All tours begin and end at the Trolley Pub HQ, located at 323  West Davie St. in the Warehouse District. We also have a beer shop on location, so feel free to show up and buy everything you need for your tour. Free and paid parking are available nearby.

Can we drink on board?
You may, but you have to follow the rules. No hard alcohol or glass (even if the glass only stays in the ice chest). All alcohol is BYOB.  You can buy beer, wine and cider right from our beer shop when you show up for the tour.  Alcoholic beverages must remain on board at all times. Bring your own ice chest or use ours.  You are also free to bring food on board. Use common sense, you can’t drink on the street.  Do not get overly intoxicated or you will be kicked off.  Do not show up to a Trolley Pub tour intoxicated or you will not be let on board.

Isn’t it hard to pedal?
It’s not too bad!.  Plus, we have an auxiliary motor to help along the difficult spots.  We have had groups of all 70+ seniors pedal just fine.  If they can do it, you can do it!!!

What if it rains?
Trolley Pub operates rain or shine! If its going to rain, we recommend bringing rain jackets and/or ponchos. It’s still a lot of fun- think of it as an adventure. We only cancel tours if there are unsafe conditions.

How many coolers fit on board?
We can fit approximately 3 full-sized coolers on board.  If you would like to use our cooler, we have room for approximately 48 cans of beer in ours (but we recommend you pack your own ahead of time). We sell ice on location at $2.14 per 10 lb bag.

Can more than 14 people fit on the Trolley Pub?
No.  The fourteen seats include the non-pedaling seat in the back bench.

Are people under the age of 21 allowed on board?
Yes, but they will receive an “X”  on each hand and cannot drink while on board.  Riders under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present.  The minimum age to ride the Trolley Pub is 15 with valid identification.

Is there a weight limit for riders?
Yes.  Unfortunately due to the nature of the vehicles, customers over 275 pounds will not be able to comfortably ride the Trolley Pub.

How do I reschedule/cancel my tour?
