  • Some of the most popular sites to visit with super interesting history behind them are: Airlie Gardens, Zebulon Latimer House, Poplar Grove Plantation, Wilmington City Hall, and the Bellamy Mansion. At each location you can take a guided tour or some spots let you wander around and explore on your own. Airlie Gardens has many paths you can take, with gorgeous scenery, and amazing stories behind the landscaping. It is also a popular wedding venue, so you will really start to get the feels for your big day in this majestic garden.  Perfect for a daytime bachelorette party activity.
  • Length of time: This depends on how many sites you choose to visit. Each house tour is less than an hour but you can spend a couple hours walking around, exploring Airlie Gardens. Make a day of it then hit up downtown and all that it has to offer to close out the evening.
  1. Cape River Riverwalk

  • Location: Downtown Wilmington in front of Front Street (literally on the Cape Fear River)
  • The Cape Fear River runs more than 200 miles through our region of North Carolina and is the only NC river to drain directly into the Atlantic Ocean. The Cape Fear Riverwalk was voted the most scenic riverfront in the nation. Along here, you will find many activities to keep you entertained. These include: perfect photo opportunities, shopping, bars, pubs, and amazing food! You will want to be here at sunset though because the view is breathtaking.
  • Length of time: You can make an afternoon of it with the shops, food, and bars found along the Riverwalk. You will already be in the heart of downtown also so once you are done on the Riverwalk, you can go wander the streets full of places to go for the rest of the night.
  1. Segway Tours

  • Location: Cape Fear Segway located in downtown Wilmington
  • This is quite the adventure to book with your girls! You all get to drive and ride around on your own Segway, while touring historic downtown. This is a great option to pair with any of the others since it does not last too long and puts you in the heart of downtown already to continue your evening afterwards. Be sure to plan ahead for this one though because reservations are required.
  • Length of time: This tour usually lasts about 2 hours.
